Single Phase Induction Motor

A single-phase induction motor features a single-phase winding on the stator and a cage winding on the rotor. When a one-phase supply is linked to the stator winding, a pulsing magnetic field is generated. In the pulsing field, inertia prevents the rotor from rotating.
