When a centrifugal pump and motor are directly connected without the need of a shaft or connection, the result is known as a Close connected Centrifugal Pump with Flange Motor. Usually, a flange connection—a flat, round component that joins the motor directly to the pump housing—is used to install the motor to the pump.
