Wet Barrel Fire Hydrant

Hydrant barrels must be composed of ductile iron. All pumper and hose nozzles must be held in place by a single threaded ductile iron retainer. Nozzles with threaded connections or those that use set screws or wedge pins are prohibited. Hydrant must be wet-barrel with independently valved exits. Pumper and hose valve stems, as well as stuffing boxes, must all be interchangeable. The hydrant barrel exterior must be factory coated with electrodeposition (E-coat) epoxy primer and catalyzed two-part polyurethane topcoat.
