A three-phase induction motor is an electromechanical energy converter. It converts three-phase electrical power input to mechanical power output. The most common form of motor for three-phase alternating current operation is the three-phase induction motor, which does not require an additional starting mechanism. This is why it’s also known as a self-starting induction motor.
